- DESCRIPTION
-
Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) is a novel polymer compound derived from natural cellulose through chemical modification. It falls within the category of non-ionic cellulose mixed ethers. With outstanding properties such as excellent thickening, degradability, and fluidity, HPMC finds extensive applications in construction, medicine, food, cosmetics, and various other industries.
Purpose
1. Construction industry: HPMC is mainly used in tile adhesives and other construction materials, and serves as a rheology modifier and water retention agent.
2. Ceramic manufacturing industry: It's widely used as a binder in the manufacture of ceramic products.
3. Coating industry: It functions as a thickener, dispersant and stabilizer in the coating industry, and has good compatibility in water or organic solvents. It's also used as a paint stripper.
4. Plastics: It's used as a molding release agent, softener, lubricant, etc.
5. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC): It acts as a dispersant in the production of PVC, and a significant additive in the suspension polymerization of PVC.
6. Pharmaceutical industry: It's used in coating materials; film materials; rate-control polymer materials for slow-release formulations; stabilizers; suspending agents; tablet binders; and viscosity enhancers
7. Shampooing agent: It enhances the viscosity and bubble stability of shampooing agents, washing agents and detergents.
8. Toothpaste: It improves the flow of toothpaste.
9. Other applications: It's also widely applied in leather, paper products, fruit and vegetable preservation and textile industry.
